Rich Gordon - independent Celebrant
In addition to being a musician, I am also an Independent Celebrant. Whilst I'm not licensed to solemnise marriages (i.e. the legal paperwork), I am well-versed in all non-legal ceremonies. These include funerals, vow renewals and “symbolic marriages” - essentially the wedding ceremony without the paperwork. These are ideal when you want to have your Scottish wedding but will find it easier to do the legal part at home.
I'm also therefore able to provide musical accompaniment (if desired) at all the ceremonies I deliver, whether it be bagpipes, saxophone, guitar/singing or even a combination of all.
When I work with my clients to produce bespoke ceremonies, I do not treat each ceremony as being the same. I always ensure that each ceremony is tailored to the individual(s) around whom it revolves.
I have a vast amount of experience at all manner of ceremonies and can advise on logistics, provide ideas and inspiration for content, and input on symbolic gestures therein - for instance handfasting, candle lighting, oathing stones, etc.
